Music: Clan of Celts

Three established and experienced musicians have been touring and gigging for the past 25 years with a number of well known and respected covers bands, both in the UK and worldwide. But they all felt that one day they would return home to their Celtic roots!

London-based band Clan of Celts have only formed in recent months. The band describe themselves as “Celtic Rock with Traditional Elements” – and through a variety of both folk and more mainstream instrumentalists, the band have a great unique sound.

They have also enlisted the talent and expertise of some of Ireland & London’s finest traditional Irish musicians who will appear on some of their album tracks and in live performances. Fusing together all their musical experiences and influences ranging from, Rock, Metal, Country, Punk, Classical and of course traditional Irish.

They have created their own unique style of Celtic Rock and an unmistakable sound that is brought to you with Celtic pride, passion, commitment and respect for their traditional roots. This is – Clan Rock.

The band are:

Alistair Mc Caig –  Bass Guitar – Al Is a native of Glasgow City Scotland and now lives in Luton UK.

Billy Mac – Vocals – Billy was born and raised in Belfast City Co. Antrim and now lives in Luton UK. 

Denis Dowling – Guitars – Denis hails from Newbridge Co. Kildare and now lives in London UK. 

Grant Wildy – Drums – Grant is Hertfordshire born and now lives in Luton UK, he has Irish and Welsh ancestry which bears him Celtic heritage. 

Jim Filgate – Banjo & Button Accordion – Jim is second generation Irish with parents from Mayo and Tipperary, born and living in London UK, Jim is also a trad. Irish dancer. 

Silvia Crastan – Fiddle & Keyboards – Silvia was born and raised in Switzerland and from her German heritage claims Celtic roots. She is also a professional violin teacher and actor.
